A delegation of Gujarat is holding road shows and meeting leading firms in South Korea to attract investors for participating in “Vibrant Gujarat” Summit scheduled to be held in January next year.
The delegation, led by S J Haider, Secretary of Science and Technology department, comprising industrialists, officials and consultants is currently touring the country to garner Korean participation in the summit.
They are holding a series of meetings with leading Korean corporations, organising road shows and visiting centres of excellence, according to a press release issued by the Indian Embassy here.
The delegation on Wednesday held a road show in the Capital Seoul with the support of the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Korea and the Federation of Korean Industries (FKI).
Yesterday, it held a road show in Ulsan - Korea’s biggest industrial hub - in cooperation with the Ulsan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Ulsan is the home base of Hyundai among other leading Korean conglomerates.
Seungcheol Lee, Vice Chairman and CEO of FKI encouraged Korean companies to actively explore emerging business opportunities in India, which was on the way to becoming an industrial power house with a huge market.
Ambassador Vishnu Prakash outlined the reforms being undertaken by the new Indian government including sweeping aside regulatory bottlenecks, streamline procedures, speed up decision making and allow for online applications and clearances. Prakash invited Korea to be India’s developmental partner.
Haider particularly focused on the smart cities and industrial clusters which are of interest to Korean companies.
