Telangana TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy and two others accused in cash-for-vote scam have been released today on bail from the Cherlapally jail.
Reddy, Bishop Harry Sebastian and Rudra Udaysimha were granted bail by the High Court of Hyderabad on Tuesday. However, the process of furnishing securities was delayed. The counsel for Reddy had to approach High Court seeking some clarification in the order passed on Tuesday.
They were arrested on May 31 for seeking to bribe Elvis Stephenson, Independent nominated MLA seeking his support for TDP candidate Vem Narendar Reddy during polls to the Legislative Council.
Reddy was greeted by scores of his supporters and TDP leaders as he was released from the jail.
The TDP MLA was granted bail with certain conditions which included surrender of his passport and cooperate with investigating agency as and when required and that he should not go out of his constituency Kodangal.
All the three were in custody from May 31.
