To celebrate the World Tourism Day, the Karnataka startup Cell, KBITS, Department of IT and BT in association with the Karnataka Tourism department conducted an open challenge to crowd-source innovative solutions and products from startups working in the area of Tourism.
Keeping with the tradition of being a pioneer in technology adoption, the State Government conducted an open challenge inviting proposals from early stage startups to present their products/solutions for adoption and roll out in the Karnataka Tourism Department.
The event was to ‘Pitch to Government’ by Tech based startups about their innovative ideas/products in tourism sector which can add value and compliment to Tourism in Karnataka to enhance and enrich the tourism experience for all tourists who visit Karnataka under Idea2PoC Scheme, Karnataka startup Policy 2015 – 2020.
A total of 127 online registrations were received from various startups by the end of 22nd which was the last date to register.
An initial screening was done by KBITS Team to identify and screen the startup registration to the first round of pitching based on various parameters.
A total of eight startups were selected after the final round of pitching for funding and support from Karnataka Tourism Department.
