China and India are friends and steps will be taken to strengthen cooperation between the two, Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao said here on Thursday.
After a 45-minute long meeting with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Yuanchao, who is leading a delegation, said he had a “good meeting”.
Yuanchao arrived in the city on Wednesday on the second leg of his five-day visit to India.
Eager to invest According to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Chinese delegation has expressed willingness to invest in the State.
Focus will also be on cultural exchange, and ‘greater economic activity’ especially keeping in mind the geographic proximity between the two.
