Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd (KRCL) today held a meeting with industries in and around Mangaluru to inform them about policy initiatives related to freight traffic.
A press release said that Sanjay Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of KRCL, held a meeting with the representatives from companies such as Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd, Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd, Udupi Power Corporation Ltd, and Aspinwall & Co, among others.
He informed them of the various reforms and policy initiatives on the freight traffic side, and requested them to make use of the Konkan Railway route for moving freight.
It said that various issues pertaining to industry and customers were also addressed.
The release said that KRCL is running ‘roll-on roll-off’ (Ro-Ro) services on its route. All efforts are being made to fetch more business through this service as it saves time and pollution-free, it said.
