A bunch of youngsters has come up with a mobile app VehicleST enabling a user to call out for emergency vehicle services, including Kudumbashree taxi hailing.

Developed by VST Travel Solutions, a startup based at the Startup Zone of Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation at Angamali, the app has brought Kudumbashree Travels services online.

Kudumbashree is the women empowerment programme of the Kerala government.

Online booking In addition to taxi cars, ‘VehicleST’ application can be used to book autos, tourist buses, flight tickets, ambulances, bulldozers, recovery vehicles and other emergency services.

The application can also be used for locating the nearest service station if a vehicle breaks down or a tyre gets punctured.

Another important feature is that users can rate and review services based on the quality of services provided.

To begin with, the application will be made accessible in Thiruvanthapuram, Kochi and Thrissur. The company plans to expand its services across the state by tying up with Akshaya e-kendras.

The application can be downloaded from Google Play; iOS and Windows versions will be ready soon.

Better service Alwin George, CEO of the startup, said that the tie-up with Kudumbashree is aimed at providing better and safer services to women passengers.

Technopark CEO KG Girish Babu flagged off the first taxi services of Kudumbashree taxi with VehicleST app on Monday. He said the App will be much useful for the Technopark employees.

He also appreciated the facility in the app for review and rating of services, which will help customers to choose better services.

Abdul Gafar, Kudumbashree district mission coordinator, said the new app would help Kudumbashree taxi services to get more customers and thereby higher revenues.

Technopark CFO Jayanti Laxmi, VST operations vice president Navin Dev MK also spoke. Taxi and auto drivers, who have registered with VehicleST, also attended the function.
