Andhra Pradesh:
All Union Ministers belonging to the Congress suffered humiliating defeats today as the party was decimated in the Lok Sabha polls in Andhra Pradesh. Kishore Chandra Deo (Araku), M M Pallam Raju (Kakinada), Killi Kruparani (Srikakulam), Panabala Lakshmi (Bapatla) and Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy (Kurnool) lost their seats to their Telugu Desam and YSR Congress rivals.
Another former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari, who contested as the BJP candidate from Rajampet in Kadapa district, also faced defeat by a margin of over one lakh votes.
The TDP-BJP combine has bagged 15 Lok Sabha seats out of the total 25 in the Seemandhra region, while YSR Congress won in eight parliamentary constituencies.
TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao won from Medak, while his daughter Kavitha won in Nizamabad. B Vinod Kumar (Karimnagar) and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy (Chevella) are among the other prominent winners from the party.
Union Ministers S Jaipal Reddy (Mahbubnagar) and P Balaram Naik (Mahabubabad) were defeated by their TRS rivals in Telangana. The new state has a total of 17 Lok Sabha constituencies.
Allies TDP and BJP have won one seat each. Interestingly, Jaganmohan Reddy—led YSRCP too opened an account in the state as P Srinivas Reddy won in Khammam, defeating sitting TDP MP Nama Nageshwar Rao.
The All Indian Majlis—e—Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president and sitting MP Asaduddin Owaisi retained his Hyderabad seat.

Delhi:
In North East Delhi constituency, BJP candidate and Bhojpuri actor—singer Manoj Tiwari defeated Anand Kumar of Aam Aadmi Party by a margin of 1,44,084 votes.
In prestigious New Delhi constituency, BJP’s Meenakshi Lekhi defeated AAP candidate Ashish Khetan by a margin of 1,62,708 votes. Lekhi polled 4,53,350 votes against Khetan’s 2,90,642 votes. Former Union Minister and sitting MP Ajay Maken was relegated to third position as he polled 1,82,893 votes.
In West Delhi seat, BJP’s Parvesh Verma won by a margin of 2,68,586 votes, defeating his nearest rival Jarnail Singh of AAP. Verma polled 6,51,395 votes against Singh’s 3,82,809 votes. Congress’ Mahabal Mishra was in the third position with 1,93,266 votes.
Gujarat:
In the politically lucky constituency of Valsad, BJP’s KC Patel defeated two—time Congress MP Kishan Patel by a whopping margin of 2,08,412 votes.
BJP leaders who won by margins of more than 1 lakh votes include Naran Kachhadiya (1,56,232) from Amreli, Mansukh Vasava (1,53,273) from Bharuch, Ramsinh Rathwa (1,79,729) from Chhota Udaipur, Poonam Maadam (1,75,289) from Jamnagar, Leeladhar Waghela (1,38,719) from Patan and Prabhatsinh Chauhan (1,70,596) from Panchmahals.
The BJP candidate in Bardoli, Prabhu Vasava, won by a margin of 1,23,745 votes while in Junagadh, BJP’s Rajesh Chudasma defeated Congress’s Punja Vansh by a margin of 1,35,593 votes.
The only two seats where the margin was less than one lakh votes for BJP were Anand and Sabarkantha.
BJP’s Dilip Patel polled 4,90,829 votes against Bharat Solanki of Congress, who has been holding the Anand seat for two terms but lost this time by a margin of 63,426 votes.
In Sabarkantha, former Union minister for textiles Shankarsinh Waghela of Congress was defeated by a margin of 84,455 votes by BJP’s Dipsinh Rathod.

Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) president and sitting MP Kuldeep Bishnoi loses Hisar Lok Sabha seat to greenhorn Dushyant Chautala of the INLD by a margin of 31,847 votes.

Jharkhand :
Sitting BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has won from Godda Lok Sabha constituency, beating former minister and Congress’ Furkan Ansari by 60,682 votes, said Election Commission sources in Ranchi.
BJP’s Sunil Kumar Singh has won the Chatra seat, defeating his nearest Congress rival Dhiraj Prasad Sahu by 1,78,026 votes, according to Returning officer Amit Kumar.
Sitting BJP MP Sudarshan Bhagat defeated former Union minister and Congress candidate Rameshwar Oraon by 6,479 votes in Lohardaga (ST) seat, according to Election Commission sources.
Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker and BJP candidate Karia Munda won the Khunti Lok Sabha seat in Jharkhand defeating his nearest rival Enosh Ekka of Jharkhand Party by 92,948 votes.

National Conference president and Union minister Farooq Abdullah lost to PDP’s Tariq Hamid Karra by a margin of 42,280 votes in Srinagar Parliamentary constituency.
Opposition PDP president Mehbooba Mufti defeated sitting MP and senior National Conference leader Mehboob Beg from Anantnag Parliamentary constituency by a margin of 65,417 votes.
Karnataka:
In Bangalore North, former Chief Minister D V Sadananada Gowda put up an impressive show, winning the seat by 2,29,764 votes while his party colleague retained Bangalore Central by over 1,37,500 votes.
Union ministers Mallikarjun Kharge (Gulbarga), Moily (Chikkaballapur) and K H Muniyappa (Kolar) retained their seats.
Scoring a spectacular victory, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa won the Shimoga seat by 3,63,305 votes, after his return to BJP early this year by merging his Karnataka Janata Paksha with the parent party.
BJP’s Shivakumar Udasi defeats Saleem Ahmed of Congress in Haveri by 87,571 votes.
In Bidar, Bhagwanth Khuba (BJP) trounces former Chief Minister Dharam Singh of Congress by over 92,000 votes.

Kerala:
Veteran Congress leader and Union Minister, Mullappally Ramachandran retained the Vadakara constituency, by edging out CPI(M)’s A N Shamseer of LDF by a slender margin of 3306 votes in a fluctuating battle.
Maintaining the lead from the beginning of counting, Indian Union Muslim League National President and Union Minister of state for External Affairs, E Ahamed, registered a thumping win over the CPI—M candidate P K Sainaba of the LDF, thereby retaining his Malappuram seat. Ahamed defeated Sainaba by over 1.90 lakh votes
Ladakh :
BJP candidate Thupstan Chhewang won from Ladakh Parliamentary constituency with a narrow margin of 36 votes from his nearest rival Ghulam Raza, a congress rebel who was fighting the elections as an independent.

As per the data available, the vote share of BJP stood at 54 per cent and that of Congress at 34.9 per cent.
BJP today retained its traditional Bhopal seat with party nominee Alok Sanjar defeating PC Sharma of Congress by a margin of 3,70,696 votes. Sanjar polled 7,14,178 votes while Sharma got 3,43,482 votes.
BJP also won Khajuraho seat with the party candidate and former minister Nagendra Singh trouncing Raja Pateria of Congress with a margin of 2,47,490 votes. Singh secured 4,74,966 votes while Pateria managed to get 2,27,476 votes.
Former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria suffered a humiliating defeat in Ratlam seat when he was defeated by a fellow tribal and senior BJP leader Dileep Singh Bhuria by a margin of 1,08,447 votes.
Congress suffered another setback when its Madhya Pradesh state party president Arun Yadav lost to BJP’s Nandkumar Singh Chouhan by a handsome margin of 2,59,714 votes.
From Maoist—affected Balaghat seat, BJP’s Bodhsingh Bhagat defeated Hina Likhiram Kawre (Congress) by a margin of 96,041 votes.
Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Prahlad Singh Patel defeated Choudhary Mahendra Pratap Singh (Congress) by a margin 2,13,299 votes.
From Rewa, BJP’s Janardan Mishra defeated Sunderlal Tiwari (Congress) by a margin of 1,68,726 votes.
BJP’s Laxmi Narayan Yadav defeated Govind Singh Rajput (Congress) from Sagar by a margin of 1,20,737 votes.
Similarly, BJP’s Dalpat Singh Paraste defeated Rajesh Nandini Singh (Congress) by a margin of 2,41,301 votes.
Madhya Pradesh BJP president Narendra Singh Tomar has won from Gwalior seat by a margin of 29,699 votes, defeating Ashok Singh of Congress in a close contest. Tomar secured 4,42,796 votes while Ashok Singh polled 4,13,097 votes.
Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj today retained her Vidisha Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh by a margin of 4,10,698 votes.
Senior Congress leader and former state chief minister (late) Arjun Singh’s son Ajay Singh lost to sitting MP Ganesh Singh from Satna seat by a narrow margin of 8,688 votes. While Singh bagged 3,75,288 votes, Ajay polled 3,66,600 votes.
BJP’s Manohar Untwal wrested Dewas from Congress by defeating sitting MP Sajjan Singh Verma by an impressive margin of 2,60,313 votes. Untwal secured 6,65,646 votes while Verma got 4,05,333 votes.
From Betul, BJP’s sitting MP Jyoti Dhurve retained her seat by a margin of 3,28,614 votes, trouncing Ajay Shah (Congress). Dhurve got 6,43,651 votes while Shah secured 3,15,037 votes.
Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s nephew and ex-minister, Anoop Mishra clinched victory on Morena seat by defeating BSP’s Brindawan Singh Sikarwar by a margin of 1,32,981 votes. Mishra got 3,75,567 votes while Sikarwar bagged 2,42,586 votes. Congress’ Govind Singh is relegated to third position with 1,84,253 votes.
BJP’s Riti Pathak defeated Indrajeet Kumar (Congress) from Sidhi seat by a margin of 1,08,046 votes. Pathak got 4,75,678 votes while Patel managed to get 3,67,632 votes
BJP’s Sumitra Mahajan wins Indore seat for a consecutive eight time by a margin of 4,66,901 votes. Mahajan, a seven-time MP, secured 8,54,972 votes as compared to Congress’ candidate Satyanarayan Patel’s 3,88,071 votes.

Congress’s Priya Dutt lost Mumbai North Central seat to Poonam Mahajan of BJP by margin of 1,86,771 votes.
In Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg, Vinayak Raut of Shiv Sena defeated his nearest rival, Nilesh Rane of Congress, by 1,50,051 vote difference. Raut polled 4,93,088 votes against 3,43,037 bagged by Rane, the sitting MP and son of Maharashtra Industries Minister and Konkan strongman Narayan Rane.
NCP’s Supriya Sule , daughter of party chief Sharad Pawar, retains Baramati Lok Sabha seat defeating her nearest rival Mahadeo Jankar of Shiv Sena—BJP alliance by 69,279 votes.
BJP’s Ramrao Bhamre won Dhule Lok Sabha seat by a margin of 1,30,723 votes. Bhamre polled 5,29,450 votes while Amrish Patel of Congerss polled 398727 votes.
BJP’s Gopal Shetty defeated Sanjay Nirupam of Congress by a massive 4,46,582 votes. Shetty polled 6,64,004 votes while Nirupam bagged 2,17,422 votes.
Sunil Gaikwad of BJP trounced Congress’ Bhaurao Bandsode by a margin of 2,53,395 votes in Latur. Gaikwad polled 6,16, 509 votes as against Bandsode’s 3,63,114 votes.
Shiv Sena succeeded in retaining Amravati, Yavatmal and Buldana Lok Sabha constituencies in Western Vidarbha of Maharashtra.
In Amravati, Anandrao Adsul polled a total of 4,67,211 votes while Navneet Kaur Rana of NCP secured 3,29 280 votes.
Bhawna Gawali of Sena retained her seat when polled 4,76,930 votes while defeating her nearest rival and Maharashtra minister Shivajirao Moghe who got 3,83,639 votes.
Sitting MP Prataprao Jadhav in Buldana received 5,09,145 votes against Krishnarao Ingle of NCP with 3,49,566 votes.

Berhampur Lok Sabha seat was retained by BJD’s Sidhant Mohapatra who defeated Congress candidate and former Union Minister Chandrasekhar Sahu by 1,27,720 votes.
In Kandhamal Lok Sabha segment, BJD’s Hemendra Chandra Singh defeated Congress nominee and former minister Harihar Karan by 1,81,017 votes.

Former minister Ranjit Singh Brahampura (SAD) defeated his nearest rival Harminder Singh Gill (INC) by a margin of 1,00,569 votes.
SAD’s Harsimirat Kaur Badal, wife of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, retained Bhatinda seat by a narrow margin of 19,395 votes over her nearest rival and her cousin Manpreet Singh Badal.
Singer-cum-comedian-turned-politician Bhagwant Mann (AAP) defeated Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa (SAD) by a margin of 2,11,721 votes from Sangrur.
Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Ambika Soni contesting her maiden Lok Sabha election lost from Anandpur Sahab seat. Soni lost to Prem Singh Chandumajra (SAD) by a margin of 23,697 votes.

It appears from the lead positions that BJP will be able to form a government on its own without depending on outside support. At this hour, the BJP is leading in 267 constituencies with about 490 lead positions in. Another 53 lead positions are likely to be declared in the next one hour. The first results for any constituency are yet to be declared.
There has been talk of an NDA government based on the belief that the BJP will not make it on its own steam. More recently, there was talk of a super NDA government with new potential allies such as Jayalalitha and Naveen Patnaik. If BJP gets past the 272 mark on its own, it may not require the help of its allies or other new allies to form a government.
The Congress with leads in just 45 seats seems set for the worst defeat in its electoral history. Results will start getting declared as counting process gets over in the next one hour or so.

Telangana trends: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi is leading in 12 Lok Sabha Constituencies, followed by Congress, which is leading in 3 seats. The newly-formed State has 17 Lok Sabha constuencies. Assembly update: TRS is leading in 54 Assembly seats in Telangana region, followed by Congress with 27 and Telugu Desam and BJP alliance with 23. The newly-formed State has 119 constituencies. The MIM candidates are leading in two seats.

Elections have been held for 543 constituencies. These are still leads. The first results are expected to come out in about an hour from now. The BJP has secured a vote share of 37.7 per cent while the Congress has about 29 per cent of the vote.
In prestigious Chandni Chowk seat, Delhi BJP chief Harsh Vardhan was leading by 5,012 votes against AAP’s Ashutosh.
Uttar Pradesh: The BJP seems to have made major gains in UP, a key state that sends the maximum number of representatives to the Lok Sabha.
According to early trends, the BJP is leading in 23 out of 37 constituencies for which leads have come in. The next immediate competitor was Samajwadi Party with 8 leads while the Bahujan Samaj Party was leading in 4. The Congress was leading in just one seat.
Vote share numbers indicate that BJP had a share of 41 per cent while SP had 26 per cent share. BSP had 20 per cent while the Congress Party got 7 per cent of the votes.
TRS and TDP leading in Andhra Pradesh : In Andhra Pradesh, both national parties – BJP and Congress didn’t make much headway going by early leads. Both parties were leading in one constituency each. The Telengana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) was leading in 6 while the Telugu Desam Party was leading in four of the 12 lead positions that are available at this hour.
Trends @9.18 am: According to leads in 220 constituencies, the BJP is leading in 112 while its closest competitor, the Congress Party is leading in 35. Elections have been held for 543 constituencies. The Left in 6, Trinamool Congress in 9, AIADMK, Telengana Rashtra Samithi and Shiv Sena in 6, Telugu Desam in 5 and AAP in 4.
BJP seems to have made major inroads into West Bengal , an area where it has traditionally not been strong. The BJP is leading in 3 out of 11 constituencies for which leads have come in. The CPI ( M) is leading in 1 constituency while the All India Trinamool Congress is leading in seven seats.
The Trinamool Congress has garnered a vote share of 35% while the CPI ( M) and BJP had about 26% vote share each.
BJP’s Sushma Swaraj is leading by a margin of 3,552 votes against Laxman Singh of Congress from Vidisha seat in Madhya Pradesh.
In Tamil Nadu , the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) was leading in all four constituencies whose leads have come in at 9 am.
According to the vote share indications, the AIADMK has secured 45 per cent of the vote so far while the DMK has secured about 27.6%.

Early trends indicate that the BJP seems set to sweep the general elections to the Lok Sabha 2014. One hour after counting began this morning lead positions started coming in. The BJP is leading in 67 constituencies while the Congress Party is leading in 25. About 128 constituency leads have come in at 9 am. According to the early trends, the BJP has secured 40 per cent of the votes while Congress has garnered 31 per cent of the votes.
