The Maharashtra Government has decided to amend Maharashtra Municipalities Act, which will reduce the time taken for companies to set up their industrial units. Under the amendment, if a company gets clearance from Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation to set an unit then it will not have to again approach the Municipal Corporation for similar permission. On Friday, the State Cabinet gave its assent to the amendment in the law. A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s office said that currently 70 permissions are required for setting industrial units in the State but under the new policy of ease of doing business, permissions are being simplified.
