Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, celebrated the 69th Republic Day by hoisting the national flag on a 125-ft-high flagpole. HS Ballal, Pro Chancellor of MAHE, hoisted the flag.
A press release said here that MAHE is the first private university in the country to have the national flag flying on a flagpole as high as this. The flag will flutter 24x7 in front of the administrative building of MAHE.
It would be illuminated for visibility at night. The size of the flag is 20 ft X 30 ft. It will be hoisted and lowered with the help of a motor. The time taken to hoist the flag is approximately five minutes, the release said.
