The State Government of Selangor, Malaysia, is seeking investments from the business community in Tamil Nadu, particularly in manufacturing.
Exploring various business opportunities between Selangor and India, Invest Selangor (the first contact point for corporates planning to invest in Selangor) has been projecting the State as the preferred investment destination in Malaysia. Teng Chang Khim, Selangor State Executive Councillor, at a Roundable Meeting organised here in association with the Confederation of Indian Industry, said the State expects investments in areas such as automotive, aerospace, life sciences and other manufacturing verticals.
Selangor offers excellent infrastructure facilities such as highways, ports and power, “which enabled us to attract the most investment projects from all over the world compared with other states in the country,” he said. Besides, Selangor is well positioned as an educational hub as well as the centre of human resources training and development.
The state has now embarked on a new vision to establish an innovative economic development agenda. Since India has been a great trade partner and has been contributing substantially to Malaysia’s economy, “we invite Indian business community to come and invest further to strengthen the economic cooperation between the two countries”, he said.
