Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will meet captains of industry late on Friday evening at Ballygunge in south Kolkata. The meeting is a part of her annual get together with the industrialists that she has been organising in the State for the last two years.
The annual get together, called ‘Bijoya Sammeloni’, is organised after the Dussehra festival.
There was considerable interest in the event last year, especially, after she took over the reins as Chief Minister.
Industrialists like Harsh Neotia (Ambuja Realty), Sanjiv Goenka (CESC), MK Jalan (Keventer’s) are likely to be present in the meeting.
Representatives of different Chambers of Commerce as well as industry bodies such as Nasscom (National Association of Software and Services Companies) and their members have also been invited to the meeting.
The meeting assumes significance in the wake of the ABG-LDA’s decision to pull out of Haldia operations citing law and order problems.
The Chief Minister is also expected to convince industry captains about the State’s industrial and land acquisition policies while projecting the State as an attractive investment destination.
