The government is committed to providing support to the youth to convert technologies of CSIR and other laboratories into viable projects, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y Sujana Chowdary has said.
“If you come up with an economically sustainable idea to start a venture and provide employment, banks are ready to lend under Mudra scheme and the government will support under Start-up and Stand-up India schemes. Besides, the Technology Development Board of the ministry is ready to give debt, equity or grant,” he said here on Thursday.
He inaugurated “Be an Entrepreneur of Science and Technology” (BEST), organised under CSIR-IICT Integrated Entrepreneurial Initiative at AUYVS Murthy Auditorium here. CSIR laboratories from all over the country participated in the initiative in which Andhra University, Sujana Foundation and NRDC also took part.
He said the National Research and Development Corporation (NRDC) will coordinate with all CSIR labs and assist entrepreneurs.
Stating that three central institutions including CCMB and IICT were in Telangana, MP M Srinivasa Rao urged the minister to make up for it by granting more institutions in the new State of AP.
NRDC CMD H Purushottam said that to promote entrepreneurship NRDC willould provide innovative technologies, bankable project reports and provide connection with investors and markets.
