Trinamool Congress MP and actor Mithun Chakraborty today surrendered around ₹2 crore to the Enforcement Directorate. Sources said it was the amount he had received from the scam-hit Saradha Group for being its brand ambassador. He has claimed that his ties with the scam-ridden group were purely professional. Chakraborty’s lawyer is said to have handed over the amount to the investigating agency.
