The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has surpassed its disbursal targets in Telangana during the year 2015-16.

"The sanctions during the year are to the tune of Rs 9,226 crore which is 114 achievement of the target,’’ V V Satyanarayana, Chief General Manager, Nabard – Telangana regional office, told newspersons at a press conference here on Thursday.

Total business of the regional office during 2015-16 was at Rs 7,720 crore. This included release of Rs 3,630 crore as long-term refinance for investment credit and Rs 2,479 crore as short-term refinance for crop production, marketing and others.

Under infrastructure development of state projects, Rs 913 crore was sanctioned during the year under review against the target of Rs 900 crore.

The state government availed loans to the extent of Rs 671 crore against the disbursement target of Rs 700 crore, he said.

Under Warehouse Infrastructure Fund (WIF), Nabard had sanctioned Rs 972 crore to the state government to bridge the storage gap of 17 lakh tonnes through the creation of 330 godowns and Rs 299 crore was released against a target of Rs 120 crore under the fund.

"The bank treats this success in performance as a benchmark for higher achievement in the year ahead in the mission of ensuring food security, financial inclusion and facilitating infrastructure growth for sustainable development and rural prosperity,’’ the CGM said.
