A.N. Appaiah has taken over as the Chief General Manager of State Bank of India, Ahmedabad Circle, following the transfer of Ramesh Rangan to State Bank of Patiala as its Managing Director.
SBI said in a statement here on Saturday that Appaiah, who joined the bank as a probationary officer in 1978, has held various assignments in the bank, which include areas like treasury, foreign exchange and human resource.
His 36-year-long career also includes an overseas assignment as a dealer at SBI’s Frankfurt branch.
The Ahmedabad Circle includes Gujarat, Diu, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
