The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Rise India, a strategic investment firm, have tied up to launch the first centre to impart driving skills in Chhapra, Bihar. The centre will be inaugurated on Monday by Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping, and Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

Rise India said in a release that it was collaborating with companies, such as Tata Motors, Ola, and Shri Ram Transporting in this public-private partnership to boost driving training and generate employment in the driving sector.

The organisation plans to set up over 50 centres in States, such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhan, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Rajasthan, the release added.
