The stage is all set for the 119th edition of the Ooty Flower Show scheduled between May 15 and 17 at the Government Botanical Garden.
Flowers from 200 countries have been imported for display during this three-day festival.
Held for over a century in this hill district, this annual festival draws tourists from far and near, who wait in queue for long hours to catch a glimpse of the colourful display of the collection.
The Garden spans 22-hectares and lies at an altitude of 2400-2500 metres above mean sea level on the lower slopes of Doddabetta Peak. It is divided into different sections such as lower garden, fern house, new garden, Italian garden, Japan garden, conservatory, top garden, sunken garden and nurseries.
Though the authorities had contemplated selling tickets online for the flower show this year, the project has not taken off as yet.
Meanwhile, the State Transport department seems to be gearing up, getting enough fleet to transport tourists uphill.
Over 1.5 lakh visitors are expected to visit the show
