Jana Sena Party President and film actor Pawan Kalyan has announced that his party will contest 2019 elections in all the constituencies where it is strong. Pawan Kalyan began his political yatra, Chalore Chalore Chal, from Kondagattu in Jagityal district of Telangana by offering puja at the Anjaneyaswamy temple.

This is for the first time that Pawan Kalyan is taking up a political campaign in Telangana after the bifurcation. He had been focussing on a few public issues in Andhra Pradesh so far. Also, this is for the first time that he has announced a long-term campaign to interact with the people. All of his earlier campaigns lasted for a few days.

Addressing reporters in Karimnagar later in the day, Pawan Kalyan said that a Jana Sena team was studying the problems in Telangana and that it would come up with suggestions to the government.

He said he had no plan to take on the governments but would take part in “constructive politics”.

Three-day visit

After his three-day visit in Telangana where he will hold meetings with party activists, he will begin his Andhra Pradesh tour in Anantapur on January 27.

The film actor-politician threw his weight behind the NDA in the 2014 elections in Andhra Pradesh, helping the Telugu Desam Party in clinching the maiden polls in the truncated State.

He, however, chose to keep away from Telangana politics till now. During his yatra, he will interact with party activists in different towns in the State. The party is yet to have a formal organisational structure. It is conducting examinations to pick the right candidates to man party positions at different levels.

BJP flays Jana Sena

Meanwhile, BJP has alleged that Jana Sena was nothing but the ‘B-Team’ of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti in Telangana.

“That Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and his government, who does not allow any leader or any party to reach out to the masses in this State, allowed Pawan Kalyan’s yatra speaks volumes of a possible deal between the both,” BJP spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao has said in a statement on Monday.
