Andhra Pradesh Cabinet today resolved to represent to the Centre that the law and order in the joint capital city of Hyderabad should be managed by the Governor as per the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act.

Section 8 of the Act provides for Governor handling the law and order of the joint capital region.

The special Cabinet meeting, which was convened here today, also resolved to represent to the Central Government for an enquiry into illegal phone tapping by the Telangana Government.

Briefing newspersons, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, said the State has taken serious view of the recent developments, which has exposed how the Telangana Government was misusing the official machinery to tap the phones of leaders from Andhra Pradesh.

Therefore, the Cabinet, which met here and chaired by Chief Minister N Chadrababu Naidu, resolved to take up these two issues with the Centre while seeking to impress upon it to initiate stringent action against Telangana.

The Chief Minister has embarked on a trip to Delhi bound to interact with the Centre expressing various issues since the cash for vote scam surfaced, exposing the tapping of phones by the Telangana Government.

Taped conversation purportedly that of Naidu were also released to some select television channels late on Sunday, a day before the annual meeting of one year of the Naidu Government was slated on June 8 in Guntur.
