Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the first phase of Mission Bhageeratha, the flagship drinking water project launched by the Telangana government, on August 7 at Gajwel in Medak district.
This is his maiden visit to the new State after assuming charge as the Prime Minister.
“He is going to take part only in the Gajwel meeting but will inaugurate remotely a host of projects taken up in a few other districts,” a State government statement said on Thursday.
Besides kicking off the first phase of Mission Bhageeratha, he will remotely dedicate the 1,200 MW plant set up at Jaipur in Adilabad district to the nation.
Power project
He will lay foundation stone for the 1,600 MW thermal power plant being set up by NTPC at Ramagundam.
“He will also lay the foundation for a fertiliser plant and inaugurate the Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University (Warangal). He will flag off works on the Manoharabad-Kothapalli railway line, before addressing a public meeting at Gajwel,” it said.
