The Telangana government has invited President Pranab Mukherjee to launch its green initiative ‘Telanganaku Haritahaaram’ (Green necklace for Telangana) that seeks to plant 230 crore saplings in the next three years.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wrote a letter to the President, asking him to launch the programme at the temple town of Yadadri on July 3.
The programme is aimed at increasing the green cover, maintaining ecological balance and ensuring sustainable livelihoods.
