Mumbai-Karnataka districts of Belagavi, Bagalkot, Vijayapura and Dharwad are all decked to host Congress party president Rahul Gandhi for three days. For Congress and BJP, districts of Mumbai-Karnataka is battle ground to capture power in Karnataka.
Run-up to Karnataka Assembly election, Gandhi's visit to Mumbai-Karnataka region is revive party to face election and also to lift party workers spirits. After landing in Belagavi, Gandhi is to travel to Athani and hold rally. Then he will move on to Tikota village where he will be interacting with women self-help groups. Later in the evening he will hold public meeting at Vijayapura.
On Sunday, he will flag off half marathon - Vrukshthon 2018 and later visit irrigation projects and multi-village drinking scheme coming under Krishna river basin in and around Alamati dam. On Monday, he hold meetings with Bagalkot and Belagavi district Congress party office bearers and travel to Saundatti. After attending public meetings in Dharwad and Hubballi, he will leave for Delhi.
