Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh were the crucial States for both Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during the recently concluded Assembly elections.

Both the rival parties’ leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi, addressed several public rallies in these States during the campaign.

A study has been conducted on the impact of the visits of these leaders during the campaign period post-October 6 (the day elections were announced in these States). Though they visited different locations, only those places visited by both the leaders have been listed here.

The study was made on the performance of the candidates in the respective Assembly constituencies with Parliamentary constituencies/districts of these locations as the base.

If a leader had visited Sikar in Rajasthan, the performance of his party’s candidates in eight of the Assembly constituencies under Sikar Lok Sabha constituency has been taken into consideration.
