The Kerala Civil Supplies Department has launched a comprehensive ration card management system that delivers all related services online. These services range from applying for a new ration card, effecting change of address, adding or deleting a member, and changing ownership from one taluk to another.
The public can log in to http://www.civilsupplieskerala.gov.in/ for availing themselves of these services, P Thilothaman, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Department of Kerala, said while launching the system here yesterday. A mobile app, 'Ente Keralam', too was unveiled.
The new system has initially been operationalised at the City Rationing Office, Thiruvananthapuram North, and the nearby Chirayinkeezhu taluk. By the end of the month, ration card services will be made accessible online through all Akshaya centres and the mobile app, across the State. The app can be downloaded from Google Playstore.
The ultimate plan is to integrate the system with the M-Kerala app, the unified mobile application of the State Government, where all services of all government departments will be available online. For those who do no have access to Internet, the services are available at the Akshaya e-centres at Rs 50 for applying for a new ration card and Rs 35 for other card-related services.
Applicants can collect the new ration card from the office concerned after they receive a message on the mobile. The Minister also released the user names and passwords for Akshaya centres at the function.
