According to the All India Radio , in the last 24 hours, a total of 5,220 Covid-19 patients have been cured in India, which is the fifth worst-affected country in the world.
So far, a total of 1,19,293 patients have been cured taking the recovery rate to 48.37 per cent, on June 8 morning. There are 1,20,406 active Covid cases across the country under active medical supervision.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has claimed that it has further ramped up the testing capacity for detecting the novel coronavirus. A total of 759 testing facilities exist in the country as on date with 531 government and 228 private labs.
Meanwhile, the worst-affected city of India Mumbai’s hotspot Dharavi has also shown the sign of flattening of the coronavirus curve.
Mumbai's Dharavi, believed to be Asia's largest slum and also a coronavirus hotspot, has not reported a single Covid-19 death in the last six days while 939 of the total 1,899 patients have recovered, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials said on Sunday.
