The Palakkad division of Southern Railways opened its 11th PRS (passenger reservation system) counter under the MP’s quota in Mangalore on Thursday. Mohan Menon, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Palakkad, said Mangalore PRS counter is the first in Karnataka under the Palakkad division. The remaining 10 PRS counters of the Palakkad division are located in Kerala. Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP of Dakshina Kannada district, said ₹5 lakh was sanctioned under the MP’s Local Area Development fund for the establishment of the counter.
