The dialogue between the striking employees of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) and State Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remained inclusive on Sunday even as the public transport has been hit for the fifth day.

Both the Governments are holding discussions with the employees as the corporation is yet to be bifurcated after the creation of Telanagana State in June last year.

The sub-committee of AP Cabinet which held discussions with the staff unions here today could not arrive at any conclusions till evening.

Speaking to newspersons after the talks which will be conducted on Monday again, AP Govt Representative Achchenaidu said the sub committee had sought three weeks time to look into the demands of the workers and asked them to call off strike in the meanwhile.

TRANPORT HIT

In the meanwhile, the public transport services were badly impacted in the two states even as the corporation operated some skeletal services with contractual employees.

Unusual rush was seen in the Secunderabad Railway Station here and auto-drivers were demanding unreasonable fares cashing in on the RTC strike which used to operate 20,000 buses a day.

The APSRTC employees have been demanding 43 per cent hike in salaries, on par with State Government employees. However, the corporation was willing to offer a 27 per cent hike in Andhra Pradesh and the decision on the proposed hike for Telangana employees of the public transport body is yet to be taken.
