The apex court on Tuesday refused BSP supremo Mayawati’s plea challenging the EC’s ban that barred her from campaigning for 48 hours.
The Supreme Court also expressed satisfaction over the swift action taken by the Election Commission against various politicians, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Mayawati, for their alleged communal speeches during campaigning . It said the poll panel has now “woken up to its powers”.
