39 new cases of swine flu today surfaced taking the total number of people suffering from the H1N1 virus to 916 in Uttar Pradesh.
“Of the 39 new cases, 31 are from Lucknow, 3 from Bareilly, 2 from Unnao one each from Allahabad, Mau and Amethi,” a health department official said here.
With this, the number of H1N1 virus patients has surged to 916 in the state, the maximum of 736 being reported in the state capital. The leaves of all the health department officials have also been cancelled across UP, he said.
A total of 2145 patients were screened out of which 916 were tested positive while 16 persons have died so far in the state. The deadly virus has affected 29 districts, the official said.
Eight deaths have been reported from Lucknow, three from Bareilly, two from Kanpur, one each from Saharanpur, Unnao and Badaun districts.
