TEDxMylapore, an independently organised TED event, will be held in Chennai on Saturday (May 2).

The event is being organised by Ganesh Natarajan, Balaji Vijayaraghavan and Sharanya Iyer, who have acquired a licence to hold the TEDx event in the city.

TEDxMylapore's line-up of speakers includes MB Nirmal of Exnora International and Nikhil Singhi, a financial planner and wealth management consultant. The speakers will share their ideas pertaining to glocal (local ideas making sense globally) communities on areas such as healthcare, nature, technology, media, business, finance, lifestyle, civic issues such as waste management and traffic hassles, fine arts such as music and drama, and so on. The event will feature the first concert performed using iPad as a music instrument, by Navneeth Sundar.

The event will follow the "unconference" format where the speakers will communicate the collective wisdom of the community through a constructively arguable idea. The talks will be carefully curated and will be between 3 and 18 minutes long.

Further details about the event can be had at TEDxMylapore.com
