Telangna State Government is planning to develop a new pharma city in the outskirts of the state capital soon.
About eight thousand acres of land adjoining the national highways could be utilised for a pharma city or pharma cluster, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said in a review meeting with the bulk drug manufacturers held here on Wednesday.
The proposed pharma city would include both industries as well as residential colony to accommodate five lakh employees and their families.
A power plant with 500 MW capacities would also be established adjacent to the pharma city to provide captive, uninterrupted power supply, the Chief Minister said, according to a release.
