The Telangana Government has set up a tax force with experts from the Department of Commercial Taxes and other relevant departments to study the tax structure in the State. The State has promised to rationalise the tax structure and provide a level-playing field for trade and industry.

Telangana IT and Panchayatraj Minister K Taraka Rama Rao said the task force has been set up after receiving complaints from the industry about high rates of tax in some areas.

Speaking at the two-day Make in India – Opportunities and Challenges event here on Saturday, he asked the industry to employ local youth in their businesses. “Consider providing jobs to the local youth particularly in the semi-skilled and unskilled areas. We will assist you in training them,” he said.

He also asked them to spend their CSR (corporate social responsibility) funds in the surrounding areas.
