The Telangana Government has targeted to double IT exports from the State from Rs 63,000 crore last year to Rs 1.20 lakh crore.

Reviewing the IT Department’s activities here on Thursday, IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao has asked the officials to prepare an action plan to achieve the target. “We must encourage new companies coming into the State, while providing conducive environment for the existing firms to expand,” he said.

The Minister asked the officials to focus on research and development and IT hardware industry. “We must cash in on the Union Government’s flagship campaign `Make in India’ by attracting investments into the hardware industry,” he said.

He said the government is going to set up the start-up incubator hub T-Hub with a view to encouraging young entrepreneurs to establish their ventures here.

“We must make at least one person digital literate in the next four years,” he said.
