The Telangana Government has targeted to produce 25 lakhs tonnes of paddy in the kharif season. Finance Minister Eatala Rajender has asked the officials to gear up for the procurement season and make necessary arrangements.
“We are spending Rs 1,075 crore on building and repairing the warehouses in the public sector. About 70 per cent of the work has been completed and we hope to complete the remaining part by the time procurement begins,” he said.
In a review meeting on Wednesday, the Finance Minister asked the officials to complete the arrangements on war footing. “Ensure that there are enough procurement centres and make arrangements to pay the MSP to farmers,” he said.
