Visakhapatnam is getting ready to host the third successive Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) partnership summit next month and the State Government is confident of a very enthusiastic response to the summit from Indian investors and those from abroad. The summit is to be held for three days from February 24.
According to officials, the summit this time will highlight the investment opportunities in logistics, food processing industries and tourism. The event is to be held by CII in association with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India, and the Andhra Pradesh Government.
“We have started the registration process. The response is quite encouraging. We are expecting partnership with the governments and top industrialists from South Korea, Japan and Germany. Negotiations are going on,” a senior official said.
While the first edition of the summit saw 328 MoUs signed envisaging an investment of Rs 4.67 lakh crore, the second edition had attracted 665 MoUs with a proposed investment of Rs 10.54 lakh crore. CII will showcase the priority areas to facilitate and attract investments, promote networking by bringing the stakeholders and create novel business models.
