Thirteen fresh cases of swine flu has been reported in Telangana, where 75 people succumbed to the H1N1 virus since January.
“From January 1 till March 22, 6,864 samples were tested, of which 2,170 found to be positive. The number of deaths because of swine flu and other complications stood at 75 as on date,” a bulletin on swine flu issued by the state government said here on Monday. It said 13 samples, out of the 45 sent for analysis yesterday, were tested positive for the H1N1 virus.
The government has advised citizens to take precautions such as reporting to hospitals on appearance of early symptoms of the disease like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain.
Sufficient stock of medicines and testing kits are available at hospitals in the state, the bulletin added.
