The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday asked the Crime Investigation Department (CID) not to take any action on Congress Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao, till further investigation in connection with the Titanium scam.
It may be recalled that the US Federal jury had indicted KVP Ramachandra Rao, a close aide of late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, in this case. The US National Crime Bureau, through the Interpol, had also issued a red corner notice on KVP. It had also asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to keep Rao under provisional arrest.
The Court asked the CID not to proceed further in the case till next hearing. It issued notices to the Home Ministry and the CBI to respond on the case. Earlier, the CID had submitted a copy of the red corner notice to the court.
