Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Deb Burman today presented a vote-on-account of ₹ 4,057.19 crore for the next three months.
The newly-elected state government could not prepare a full-fledged budget due to paucity of time, it said.
Deb Burman said the new BJP-Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) government took oath of office and secrecy on May 9 and it was not possible to present a full-fledged budget within such a short time which was why the vote-on-account was presented.
Deb Burman also presented supplementary demands for grants and expenditure of ₹ 1,161.19 crore for 2017-2018 Financial year .
He alleged that the previous Left Front government had spent money without proper planning and provision and had put the government under a financial liability of ₹ 11,355.53 crore.
