The release of Kamal Haasan-starrer Uttama Villain has been delayed further. Its release, scheduled for Friday, got cancelled, allegedly following issues between the producer of the film and financiers.
Fans who booked their tickets in advance had to go back without a clue as to when the release will take place. According to sources in the film industry, though representatives of both sides had met, issues were not ironed out.
A cinema hall owner said that since it has been released in West Asia and some other countries, they must sort out the issues amicably and release the movie without further delay. If not, the nuisance of piracy may become a bigger issue to tackle, he added. The shows of the film have also been cancelled in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, sources said.
