The Uttar Pradesh Government will spend Rs 1,570 crore on repair and construction of roads, culverts and bridges during 2012-2013.
Proposals to this effect were approved in a meeting chaired by UP Public Works Department Minister,Mr Shivpal Singh Yadav, an official spokesman said.
During this period, 1,000 kilometres of single-lane roads would be converted into double lane, the spokesman said adding that quality of work would be ensured.
