The US-based Navigant Healthcare, a revenue management consultant and dispute advisory, has acquired Technopark-based RevenueMed, a player in business process management services in healthcare.

This will strengthen and expand Navigant’s platform to include global offshore capabilities for its clients, Julie Howard, Chairman and CEO, said. “The deal will allow for greater scale and accelerated revenue and profit growth overall. We welcome the RevenueMed team,” she added.

Navigant employs more than 3,000 professionals globally who assist clients across the healthcare, energy and financial services industries.

RevenueMed is also headquartered in Atlanta, US, and employs more than 1,500 professionals working from its offices in Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram, and Nagercoil in neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

Post-acquisition, its day-to-day operations will continue to be managed by Michael von Grey, CEO, and Mahendra Singh Rawat, Managing Director.

Additional jobs

The entire RevenueMed team will become part of Navigant Healthcare, creating what Grey described as an increasingly broad and comprehensive service offering. The acquisition comes at an important time for both companies and the healthcare sector overall, Grey said.

This is expected to generate additional employment opportunities for medical and nursing talent and other professionals in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, he added.

RevenueMed was funded in 2002 and it gradually expanded providing job opportunities in greater Thiruvananthapuram and Nagercoil regions.

Its healthcare revenue cycle capabilities are delivered by diverse staff groups including science, business and engineering graduates.

It also engages a growing team of physicians and registered nurses who can bring a clinical dimension to their roles.

The company operates as an extension of healthcare client’s business office, yielding cost and process efficiencies.

David Zito, Navigant director and segment leader, said that the healthcare sector is facing unprecedented pressure as in navigates growing complexities while delivering better outcomes and value to patients.
