Vodafone India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vodafone Group, has invested more than ₹300 crore to ramp up network and distribution in the Karnataka circle in the 2015 financial year.

Further, Vodafone India has added more than 400 new sites and 67 retail touch points during the year and now has 9,250 2G sites across 13,850 towns and villages.

“In effect, we have doubled the number of sites in the 2015 financial year when compared to 2014,” said Atanu Batabyal, business head -Karnataka, Vodafone India.

According to the company officials, Vodafone has 67 lakh users in Karnataka.

With this roll out, the company now covers more than 76 per cent of the region's population and has seen data revenues jump by 68 per cent on a year-on-year basis. Data now contributes to 17 per cent of total service revenues of Karnataka circle, higher than the average 15 per cent that it gets in other parts of India.
