Whirlpool aims at Rs 850-cr Diwali sales

Whirlpool of India has introduced an initiative to give non-resident Keralites an opportunity to celebrate the festival season with family in their native place.
Under the scheme, styled Gift an Onam, people will be flown from Gulf countries to Kerala. Those who have not celebrated Onam in the State for more than three years along with their families can apply.
The most eligible 25 candidates from on the basis of the number of years spent away from Kerala will be selected. Anyone can nominate their loved ones to participate in this initiative through a dedicated microsite www.giftanonam.com
This was announced by Shatanu Das Gupta, Vice President – Corporate Affairs and Strategy, at a press meet here on Tuesday in connection with unveiling of Onam offers for the Kerala market.
The company also announced a lucky draw during the promotional celebrations. Customers stand a chance to win couple return ticket to Dubai as bumper prize. As many as 51 customers will be selected through a draw to be held during the second week of October.
Unveiling the promotional offers, Gupta said that the company is targeting a sales revenue of Rs 200 crore from the Kerala market during this year, a growth of 25 per cent over the previous year.
