The developmental bodies being the arms of the government like the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the city’s civic body and others, apparently are attending to their allotted works with levity of interest, said Sudhakar S Shetty, President, Federatiopn of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), in a release.

To elucidate, the BBMP’s work of laying concrete roads was recently christened as the ‘White Tapping’. It is more of a wound surfacing in and around Bengaluru without any application of mind, suffocating the environment,” he added.

The ‘White Tapping’ is only creating more noise and pollution and reducing the already dwindling ecosystem. “It will not be a surprise if the water from drainages gushes into the residences shortly when the summer dials rainy season,” he explained.

“It is common sense to first complete service roads and then stitch the main roads which is noticed as uncommon in the authorities. Such unplanned, ill timed exertions have become a nuisance to the citizens of Bengaluru and also are an eyesore to the travellers who ingress to our city,” he said.

According to Shetty, it is high time that the Government should immediately either get into the roots of the matter and provide strict directions to BBMP, other contractors or stop ulcering the city till completion of elections.
