Stepping up pressure on the Andhra Pradesh government over the knife-attack on its chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport on October 25, the YSR Congress Party met the Governor ESL Narasimhan and reiterated its demand for a third party inquiry into the incident.

Party leaders Dharmana Prasada Rao and RK Roja sought the intervention of the Governor in the matter on Thursday.

Speaking to the media after the meeting at the Raj Bhavan here, they expressed lack of faith in State investigation, saying the DGP and Chief Minister had tried to dilute the incident despite its gravity.

They alleged efforts are being made to treat it as a minor incident though it was an attempt to murder the leader of the opposition who holds the Cabinet rank.

They demanded the arrest ofactor Shivaji, who they claimedwas propagating conspiracy theories, and the airport restaurant owner, Harshavardhan Choudhary, who is a TDP functionary.
