Lt Gen (Retd) A.K. Singh has assumed charge as the 11th Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
At a swearing-in ceremony held on Monday, Justice Arun Mishra, Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court, administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new Lt Governor.
Chief Secretary Anand Prakash read out the warrant of appointment, a press release said. Lt Gen Singh, former GoC-in-C, Southern Command, was commissioned into the 7th Light Cavalry in June 1973.
