Popular Telugu film actor Pawan Kalyan floated Jana Sena (People's army), asking people to question powers that be.

He launched a scathing attack on Congress high command for the state of affairs in the state.

Pawan Kalyan, brother of film star and Union Tourism Minister Konidela Chiranjeevi, unveiled the party flag and objectives to an invited crowd of 6,000 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) in Madhapur.

The Pawan Kalyan Team has made arrangements to telecast live his speech from the Novotel expo facility.

A filmi touch

The arrangements for the inaugural resembled a typical audio or teaser release function, building tempo a few ahead before the launch date. All the invites, including media and car passes, carried a barcode, assigning a seat for each invitee.

The venue is one of the top choices for the film producers to conduct audio launches and film functions.

Initial reports suggest that Jana Sena will contest only in 10-20 per cent of the 294 Assembly and 42 Lok Sabha seats.

With a huge fan following in the youth, the 43-year-old actor can play spoil sport with main political parties in both the regions by attracting a good chunk of votes.

The ‘Power Star', who shares No. 1 slot in the Telugu film industry with Mahesh Babu, is riding on the crest of a wave of popularity with two back to back blockbuster hits of Gabbarsingh and Attaarintiki Daaredi.

Pawan Kalyan, a recluse person, headed the youth wing of Praja Rajyam founded by his actor brother Chiranjeevi five years ago. After a hectic tour across the State that witnessed flamboyant speeches, the actor suddenly disappeared from public life following the merger of the party with the Congress.

Reports suggested that he fell out with his brother after the merger. He wanted his brother to keep the party alive despite the setback at the polls.

Talk of his political entry surfaced two weeks ago, with leaks coming about his plans to start a political party. But everything was kept under wraps till last minutes, punctuated by unconfirmed news here and there about the objectives of the party.
