Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a three-nation visit to Rwanda, Uganda and South Africa between July 23 and July 27 to strengthen strategic and economic ties with the key African countries.
Modi, who will attend the BRICS Summit in South Africa on July 26-27, will first visit Rwanda on July 23-24 and Uganda on July 24-25.
"The PM will be accompanied by an official delegation and a large Indian business delegation is also expected to be part of the visit," T S Tirumurti, Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs, told reporters at a briefing on Friday. In the BRICS meeting, leaders will discuss wide ranging matters including international peace and security and trade issues, he added.
BRICS includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
