The CAG has found irregularities in selection of consultants for construction of T-Hub Phase II and Image Tower, leading to an additional burden of ₹16.7 crore. It called for investigation into the issue to fix the responsibility.

“A change in payment clause with consultant while concluding agreement, result in an additional financial commitment of ₹5 crore in Image Tower,” the CAG said in its report on the Telangana finances for 2016-17.

“The construction agency of T-Hub Phase II received an undue benefit of ₹13.11 crore during execution due to changes in post-agreement, leading to a cost impact of ₹16.43 crore,” it said. It observed that land parcels offered by the IT Department lacked basic amenities. “Hence, firms did not come forward for setting up IT industries. Consequently, no land allotment took place during the last five years,” it pointed out.
