Ivanka Trump, Adviosor to the US President, has called for a public policy push for women entrepreneurs.
"Public policy is incredibly important to support women entrepreneurs," she said while speaking at a plenary session on 'We can do it: Innovations in workplace development and skills' at the ongoing Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) here on Wednesday.
Observing that there is a need for ''a better job" in recognising women's abilities, she said: "We can create an environment where better decisions can be taken..."
While giving a thumps up to India's efforts in encouraging women, Chanda Kochhar, Managing Director and CEO, ICICI Bank, said 40 per cent of Indian banking was being led by women.
About 100 million families of self help groups were being run mainly by the contribution of women members, she said.
"For India, it is a matter of both celebration as well as resolving committment" for promoting women, Kochhar said.
Cherie Blair of Cherie Blair Foundation said it's all about choice and diversity and respecting the choices of women.
